We want to keep the community support going with a banner painting session and community BBQ in Flemington – doubling as a reminder that the Labor Government should be building more public homes not demolishing them.
We’re looking for a handful of volunteers to help out at the Save Pubic Housing Community BBQ this Saturday 2 March. If you want to get creative and have an hour or so to spare, we’d love to have you there. We’re planning to paint banners and signs that can be used throughout the campaign to save public housing.
No experience is required and all materials will be supplied. We’ll require volunteers to be there from 11.30am – 1.30pm (if you need to leave earlier that’s ok!).
There will also be a free halal BBQ available on the day.
The Community BBQ is hosted by advocacy group Save Public Housing Collective with support from the Office of Samantha Ratnam MLC.
Please contact Samantha Ratnam’s office at samantha@samantharatnam.org.au if you have any questions.
This event is taking place on stolen land. We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung People of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners. All of our respect goes to the Elders past and present in their continued fight against the ongoing colonisation of their lands.
