Climate change is one of the greatest issues of our time. What we do in the next few years will determine the future for humans, animals and the planet.

Advocating for strong climate action is, and always has been, a top priority for me – as a mother, an environmentalist, and as an MP. It’s the reason I got active in politics.

I’ve marched with Victorians and thousands of young people amongst them in the streets of Melbourne to demand a climate-safe future for all of us. And I’ve echoed those calls time and time again in Parliament.

The Greens and I have always pushed the Victorian Labor Government to go further and faster on climate action. For years we’ve led calls in Parliament for Victoria to set strong climate targets and to replace coal and gas with 100% renewable energy.

And we’ve had some significant wins. We’ve stopped fracking and got massive investment in clean renewable energy.

‘After years of campaigning for better storage to set us up for a renewable future, the government announced that it would build a big energy storage battery for Victoria.’

Recently, I introduced legislation on behalf of the Greens to stop offshore drilling for fossil fuels like oil and gas, including near the 12 Apostles – the latest area to be opened up for mining by the Victorian Government.

And although we weren’t able to stop the Labor Government’s tax on electric vehicles, our campaigning efforts and the voices of hundreds of Victorians forced the government to announce incentives to encourage a shift to electric vehicles.

The Greens have a plan to stop all new coal and gas mining, reach 100% renewable energy by 2030, create thousands of jobs through green manufacturing and rapidly transition to electric vehicles.

I won’t stop fighting for a climate-safe future for all of us. Please join me and let’s work together to tackle the climate crisis.

Help push the Victorian Government further and faster on climate action.
